And lord help you if you push for real changes or provide critical feedback. - Lots of managers, few leaders We've got lots of overly detail-oriented micro-managers but few leaders. By leaders, I mean people who you follow out of respect and not fear. - Shiny but hollow benefits The benefits listed in the pros section are valuable but what people want and need are things like flexibility, consideration, dignity and a work-life balance. Those are not available in general; individual managers vary.
