Pluspunten

You get to work with talented and smart technicians. The technicians are able to be themselves despite their quirks. (for now) You get significant autonomy in tackling projects. There is exceptional camaraderie and banter to be enjoyed. Want to quickly make progress on a specific project? Get a few people together and you can make it happen! Want to improve the office? There's budget you can make use of. The people are nice and friendly. Easy to talk to. And you can get stuff done at a rapid pace. There's adequate facilities at every office, and in specific cases they may suit your needs! There is a tech culture that values security, privacy and technological sovereignty. (unfortunately it's going to waste thanks to the commercial priorities)

Minpunten

Uncompetitive salary. The market has moved on since these rates were set. The diagram hasn't been updated for half a decade, and you're hired low on entry, unless the available position is exceptionally in demand. And don't count on a raise if you enter at market rates. Raises are not awarded by performance, but by seniority, brazen demands and threats. You'll get passed over if you do your job well and keep your mouth shut. But if you complain and threaten with departure, you can usually count on a raise! New hires come in much higher than current hires, but subsequently get passed over for raises, since they arguably "came in above market" which is not honest at all, considering the growth in demand in these positions. Make no mistake; loyalty is not rewarded. In the past, this was compensated by other exceptional benefits like exorbitant Christmas gifts, loyalty and anniversay bonuses as well as additional holiday bonuses. But all of those have slowly disappeared. Senior talent departing in droves due to lack of salary growth and deteriorating office climate, taking institutional knowledge with them. New hires are left without guidance. Office politics are ruining the atmosphere. Baseless accusations and official warnings from management against employees who are concerned with the well-being of others, and the facilities at the different offices. Micromanagement. Technical projects lack clear requirements; where management should guide, it's hands off, and where management should trust the experts, it's all about the details. And when there's a disagreement between departments, it's hashed out in long sessions where everyone involved on a technical level knows what's expected except the project leads. And the other managers don't dare take control. Furthermore, customers are no longer receiving the attention and respect due to commercial ambitions from the management. (in part private equity)
