I was first interviewed by telephone by an internal recruiter and then a video conference with two senior managers two weeks later. The moment the hiring manager saw from my resume that I was a US Marine combat veteran, he asked me questions about my mental stability. And even though I have 40 years of procurement & sourcing experience with well respected companies, including 2 competitors, along with 8 active professional certifications (including a Six Sigma Black Belt and PMP) and education that includes Harvard Business School, Intuitive Surgical turned me down for the role. The key takeaways from this interview experience are this: Intuitive Surgical detests US Military Combat Veterans, they don't care about extensive experience, education, and certifications, and they definitely don't want people that are 60 or over. To be honest, Intuitive Surgical shouldn't deserve US Government Contracts because of their ill will toward US Military Veterans. Even when they could secure a $36K tax credit for hiring a disabled Vet like myself, they decided not to because of their own prejudices. Hence, if you are well qualified, educated, and a Veteran, you should look somewhere else for employment.
