a computer based test is taken to screen the candidated. this test is based on basic and very normal science and engineering. 60% is the pass marks for this CBT. after getting through CBT, interview is conducted by Company's representative which is purely technical. Interview covers all the basic knowledge (know hows) of the machines that a marine engineer is suppose to work on a ship, e.g., purifiers, alternators, boilers, Inert gas generators, air compressors, referigeration plants etc. question are asked on each of the machines but just the basic working principles, they dont go too deep in any machines.
