tl;dr - Got ghosted. Did a phone interview, said they had no issues with me moving forward, waited for follow-up email to schedule, then nothing.
I had originally applied for a position at the company, but the recruiter sent me and email and said the managers saw my resume and thought I'd be a better fit for another position.
We had scheduled a short, 10-15 minute phone interview for the next day. The recruiter called, and I walked her through my resume, detailing my work experience and tying that to the role.
After that, the recruiter said I had pretty much answered all the questions she had about my resume, and that I would receive an email about scheduling a 1 hour 30 min virtual interview the next week.
I ask her if she had any reservations or hesitations about having me for the role. She said no.
After that, I was ghosted. Sent a follow-up email the next Wednesday. Nothing.
This does not come across as professional to me as an applicant. I feel like the recruiter was not being honest about me moving forward, she must've felt there was something holding me back, but did not say.
This paints the picture that the company is not willing to be honest to candidates, nor are they willing to help them grow.
If candidates are treated like this, I fear how employees are treated. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
EDIT: The recruiter contacted me nearly a week after my follow-up email apologizing for the "extreme delay" (but no futher information was provided, and I saw the job was reposted the day before, hmmm). Asked me if I wanted to interview that week, I told her I was going to interview elsewhere.
Technically not ghosted now, but I still feel the whole matter was extremely unprofessional. Again, I would not recommend interviewing at this company.
