Fun fact: ASML's Veldhoven campus has falcons, gardens, and a rainbow crossing. All these details and more were captured in this epic Lego replica made by our colleague Rick Lenssen! Keep reading for the full story. ↓ Rick, a developer at ASML, has always enjoyed the company’s campus in the Netherlands and found that he was inspired during his walks around the area. He decided to put his love for Legos to good use and built an intricate model of the entire campus, piece by piece. So what does it take to create a miniaturized version of ASML’s buildings and common areas? The answer is a couple of years and lots and lots of Legos! Designing the blueprints for the replica took Rick around 1.5 years, and he then spent another year snapping it all into place. The finished piece is an impressive creation made of 25,000 Legos! That’s close to one brick for every employee working at our Veldhoven campus! The massive display now lives in one of the buildings on ASML’s campus (totally meta!!) for everyone to enjoy.
This year, we're celebrating the season of gifting with our 4th annual Angel Tree initiative. More than 900 donated (and wrapped!) gifts by ASML employees were recently delivered to children of families that are supported by local food banks in the Delft and Eindhoven regions. Together, we're helping to light up a local child’s holiday season and spread a little more kindness in the community!
We’ve made in the top 3 – Computable’s company reputation survey of the IT industry! This year, ASML rocketed to first place while standing next to the world’s most influential tech giants. Let’s continue moving technology forward, one nanometer at a time. Read more in this article here (Dutch only):
Talent permeates everything we do at ASML; from engineering to music, our workforce is skilled in more ways than one. In fact, to celebrate our talented colleagues, we annually host ‘ASML on Stage’ giving them the chance to perform live on Eindhoven’s famous concert hall, Muziekgebouw. This year, to help uncover our colleagues’ hidden musical gifts, we spent the past week placing grand pianos at different locations across our HQ campus in the Netherlands. Calling all musical geniuses to step forward!
Sustainability in action: Green ASML is an employee network passionate about environmental protection and conservation. Recently, 50 volunteers participated in a local vegetable harvest, where all produce will be donated to a food bank in Eindhoven to feed families in need. So far, they have completed 250 hours of volunteer work. What a great initiative!
What better way to discover life at ASML than to visit our campus? At the ASML Career Day, we were joined by bachelor's, master's and PhD students across disciplines from all over the world. During the event, they had the opportunity to chat with our colleagues, learn about ASML's technology through our Experience Center and participate in a variety of special tours and presentations. Did you know that more than one third of ASML staff cycle to our campus in Veldhoven every day? We recently encouraged our employees to participate in the Bike On challenge, which aims to increase our average number of bike rides to campus from 20,000 to 24,000 each week. As a result, in November, we will plant 1,000 trees in and around Veldhoven.
Not everyone at ASML thinks the same way, and we’re proud of it. A large number of employees at ASML are ‘neurodivergent’ – meaning they have neurological variations such as autism, ADHD and dyslexia. People who are neurodiverse are highly valued at ASML, since they tend to be better than average at analytical thinking, logic, creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. "ASML wouldn’t be where it is today without neurodivergent people, some of whom are in top leadership roles in the company. If you look at some of the strengths of neurodiversity, such as innovation and creativity – it’s what we need in ASML,” says Peter Baillière, ASML executive vice president of HR.
