Collaborating with physicians, care teams, and administrators is how we innovate with intention to transform lung cancer care for patients. Our shared goal is to create a future where lung cancer is detected early, diagnosed quickly, and managed with precision and clinical confidence. The preliminary results of the CONFIRM study tell us we’re getting there. Finding answers early. Providing hope. And giving time. That’s Ion By Intuitive. ~20% increase in wrist range of motion*. This is more than just a number. It’s a new opportunity for surgeons using da Vinci SP to offer less invasive care to their patients using the next evolution of our single-port instruments, featuring our new Extended Range and Force Bipolar instruments. Surgeons wanted more from our previous generation of da Vinci SP instruments. They wanted enhanced wrist dexterity. They wanted a more natural wrist control when suturing. We listened. That’s Intuitive. *Compared to standard range da Vinci SP instruments. Data on file at Intuitive.
What impact do engineers at Intuitive really have? It’s not just that they build adaptive, AI-enhanced tools that evolve with surgeon needs. It’s not only that they design first-of-their-kind mechanical and electrical solutions or troubleshoot mission-critical technology in the field. Intuitive engineers bring precision to complex problems. They push the boundaries of what technology can do in the hands of a surgeon. And they help build the systems behind life-changing care. Today, Intuitive President Dave Rosa had an opportunity to interact with hospital executives, clinical decision-makers, and industry thought leaders from the UK and Ireland gathered at the Royal College of Physicians in London. Together they discussed breakthroughs in technology that will propel robotic surgery’s ability to help patients have better surgical experiences and faster recoveries. Intuitive had the privilege to host two simultaneous Peer-to-Peer events—one with a da Vinci focus and one with an Ion focus. The da Vinci discussion centered on what type of impact these surgeons can make on the future of patient care, and what they can expect from Intuitive and the infrastructure of reliability, support, and service we provide. The Ion discussion focused on envisioning a patient journey with earlier intervention as well as how we approach chronic lung disease. “When we share our learnings, insights, successes, and best practices, we are working together to improve patient outcomes and transform healthcare,” said Rosa. That’s Intuitive.

At Intuitive’s 2025 Annual Commercial Meeting in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Samantha Baah and Dr. Nana Baah, a dynamic married couple, captivated the audience with their discussion about Ion—a cutting-edge robotic bronchoscopy platform. Samantha, a pulmonary and critical care physician, and Nana, also known as Yaw, an interventional radiologist, are at different stages in their journey with the Ion system. Samantha has been utilizing the system for more than two years, having established a highly successful robotics practice. In contrast, Nana had his first experience with the system at the event, exploring its potential impact on his field of medicine. After their presentation, we spoke with them about their approaches to medicine and the sources of their motivation.
