Thank you, MIT Museum for hosting our LLRISE students in preparation for their final presentations. During this event, students presented and led demos of their Doppler, pulse compression, and ranging radar data to museum visitors. The Lincoln Laboratory Radar Introduction for Student Engineers (LLRISE) program is a summer workshop teaching students how to build small radar systems. https://lnkd.in/gZb6-Sqy hashtag#STEMOutreach

Happy birthday to us! We have stretched the capabilities of technology ever since the Laboratory's establishment on July 26, 1951, as a federally funded R&D center managed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology for the United States Department of Defense. As the challenges have changed since the Cold War–era threats, we have evolved to find solutions to the new problems. Yet, our mission has remained unchanged — technology in support of national security. And behind our innovative R&D are people with exceptional technical abilities and creativity, working in cross-disciplinary teams to develop advanced technologies for diverse needs. We are indebted to our entire Laboratory staff for their invaluable contributions to the community and beyond. ⭐ Explore more about our history of innovations through the years: https://ow.ly/n5eN50SL0Rh

Megan Bliss, a Group Administrative Assistant in Advanced SATCOM Systems and Operations, first joined the Laboratory in September 2022. Having previously worked on the Tufts Medical Center campus, Megan loved the idea of being in an educational environment that fosters growth and innovation. “Don't be intimidated by MIT or think that you don't belong here because you don't have a technical background,” she says.

Recently, MIT Lincoln Laboratory recognized Jeff “Skunk” Baxter’s 20 years of creative technical contributions within the Laboratory by transmitting his recent album, 𝑆𝑝𝑒𝑒𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝐻𝑒𝑎𝑡, from Earth to the NASA Laser Communications Demonstration Satellite and back again. For many years, Skunk has been actively involved in the Laboratory’s Strategic Red Team for setting the directions for new missions and programs. He has also been involved in developing ideas for new capabilities to counter advanced threats. Skunk was a 2020 inductee into the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame.
