Pluspunten

Location Some of the people Company weekend A lot of international colleagues

Minpunten

High workload. Low salary (way under market standards), bonus used as an excuse for a lower salary, the bonus only benefiting upper management & top traders, not business support. No work-life balance. The option to work from home is seen in a negative light. Toxic environment. No transparency from management. "Focus on the positive". High employee turnover, front and back office, resulting in others picking up the work and not being compensated for months of double or triple work responsibilities. No growth opportunities. Top management doesn't know who you are or care.

Pluspunten

Friday drinks. Smart international team to work with.

Minpunten

I worked at the company for several years. Unfortunately, from being a small company it slowly turned into a very male-dominated environment. All the privileges were for traders, around 90% men. The company had a strong masculine energy and basically any kind of comment or behavior toward women was tolerated. If you were a man and you made money, you could get away with almost anything. It’s sad to see that even the worst behavior from men often went unpunished. Of course I’m not talking about all men, many of them were nice, but very often you had to pretend you didn’t hear certain jokes and there was nothing you could do because traders were untouchable. For example, during a company weekend in Mallorca, one trader literally harassed many women. This was reported and proven to HR. He insulted women, touched them, and said disgusting things while drunk. He even called me a “sex doll” while grabbing my arm. What happened after many people reported him? Nothing. A few years later I saw this same person on the company’s LinkedIn page, in front of a camera, talking about biomethane. The company has over 60k followers on LinkedIn and probably no one knows how this person behaves when he drinks and is around women. The worst part is that he now has an important role, never punished, and probably earning a lot of money. And yes, that’s likely exactly why he was never fired.

Pluspunten

- Many trainings, life coach support, career coach from 3rd party - Company weekend: once a year ACT will sponsor a weekend trip in 5-star resort - Very promising market. The company is doing very well.

Minpunten

- Ver low salary. Salary is determined by age, not by skills. - HR is way too slow with their jobs and often mess up things. - Internal communication is difficult. People normally have high egos, especially traders. They think it's oke to be rude to others. - Work is very hierarchial. Decisions are made by high-rank managers who never have to suffer like us. The employees often have to suffer from bad decisions from managers. - Middle manager problems: many people are not yet ready to become managers. Excellent individual contributors do not equal to decent managers. - Very inflexible with working from home or working time.
