Pluspunten
I’ve been at Booking.com for a couple of months, so this is an early view. There’s a lot to learn, but the environment makes that manageable. People are open to questions, collaboration is encouraged, and there’s a clear emphasis on growth without pressure to have everything figured out immediately.
The work is interesting and grounded in real product impact, with a strong focus on experimentation and careful analysis.
Teams are generally thoughtful and easy to work with, which makes a difference day to day.
Benefits are good overall (especially travel related!). The office setup is excellent, lunch is genuinely very good, and the general atmosphere is collegial rather than competitive.
Overall, a positive experience so far, especially as a place to learn and build solid foundations.
Minpunten
On the downside, pension contributions are on the low side. The NS subsidy is also less generous than at some other companies, although the commuting allowance helps offset this, aside from first class travel which gets expensive quickly.
