- I've noticed a major leave of talented, senior colleagues. Especially in the last 2 years. - It's unclear when the backfill of the past year will be filled again. - A decrease in company wide events and activities. It was one of the things to look forward too and to get to know new people outside of the work environment. - It's getting harder to connect, also due to WFH. - No transparency on pay-scale and compensation for inflation.

- Almost working fully remote, makes you loose touch with the company

Pluspunten

I've been with Mendix for more than 5 years. For a company that grew this much, it's quite a long time. Over these years I liked how Mendix could keep its spirit while taking the steps for becoming the top player in its field. Even the acquisition felt more like Mendix extending its basis than being consumed by a greater company. I hope Mendix will keep this 'Mendix Blue' spirit forever.

All the fast growth and Covid lockdowns caused a slight loss of contact between employees and also between teams. I hope that it will catch the same levels before Covid.

My direct team members, willingness to help each other, the good old parties, lunch and the view at the river side of the building made me smile.

Management! With the leave of Derek Roos leadership and vision has left the building as well. Almost entire board consists of inexperienced employees who have been placed in a management position by Siemens. Small group of intimates with lots of favoritism. HR always talks about the preservation of the of the Mendix values, but is not familiar with the basic principal; Practice what you preach.

- The leadership team can be too focused on each other rather than on the individual contributors. This leads to avoidable mismanagement and generally poor communication. - Parts of the sales team are caught in a rift between Siemens and Mendix. Two completely different companies and paces of change. - Too many overlay functions in sales that confuse ownership

- Interesting colleagues, with a variety of skills. Talented developers. - It's still a cool product after all these years - Lunches were great (but that doesn't really matter anymore with a 'virtual first' approach)

Mendix used to be the 'cool' company. In their start-up/scale-up state, it was the place to be. This changed rapidly when they were acquired by Siemens. - Upper management is out of touch with their employees. Complaints go unanswered, genuine concerns are brushed away. Ask a tough question? "We can't answer that". - The direction of the company has been gone since the last CEO left. The company pretends to do good (and has good marketing), internally it is totally unclear. - Middle management is worse. Most of the people there are there because of favouritism, not genuine skills. They are more concerned with KPI's, targets and other fancy management jargon, instead of genuinely working on making it a better place for their employees. There are a rare few that do their best and have qualities, the vast majority not... - It is no wonder so many experienced developers have left the company already. Benefits are below market, no compensation for inflation, zero transparency. - Talking about transparency: employees have been asking for pay-scale transparency for years now (this goes way back), that is still being put of by management. ("It's not Siemens policy" was the repeated infuriating answer...) - Stay away from HR. They will throw you under the bus (while playing 'innocent' to management) or out of the company. They pretend to value people, in the end it's just any other HR department (with a lot of toxicity). - If you do well in the company, all is good. Until the moment you get sick. This is where Mendix will even tread closely to the law. Support from HR is nowhere to be found... - Portions of the company have been outsourced overseas. In principal there is nothing wrong with that, the cultural differences are impacting productivity though. Cooperation between overseas teams have been struggling ever since. - In the end, this has just become a Siemens company, with loads of unclear rules, a vast amount of bureaucracy and a certain toxicity. If you value your mental health (or pay-check/dignity), stay away from this Siemens subsidiary...

- Veel kansen om te groeien, pro-actief zijn wordt beloond. - Goed ontwikkelbudget voor persoonlijke ontwikkeling. - Remote first beleid. Je mag 4 weken in het buitenland werken, 100% thuiswerken maar ook gewoon naar kantoor voor 5 dagen in de week. Erg flexibel. - Duidelijke visie voor de komende jaren. Duidelijke koers om binnen x-aantal jaar een miljardenbedrijf te worden. - Prachtig kantoor.

Minpunten

De groei zorgt ook voor groeipijntjes. Structuur en vastlegging van informatie is nodig omdat het als bouwsteen zal dienen voor de snelle groei. - Bepaalde systemen zijn overgenomen van Siemens wat voor vertraging kan zorgen.
