Peer support is high, and there is a LOT of communication despite the large distances between many of the consultants. There is no concept of "minimum years at position" before a promotion, so in theory the best and brightest can bubble up to the top as soon as they're ready.
Minpunten
Travel is the #1 drawback to working for a global consulting company, such as Avanade. Consultants must be prepared to spend long hours in the air and lots of time away from their homes. There isn't a lot of transparency into the salary structure, and reviews are only conducted once a year. This can lead to large time gaps between opportunities for promotion and advancement. Also, the bonus program is pretty poultry.
