The travel, variety of projects, the consulting lifestyle. If you've been an engineer and is waiting to take on a new challenge, Avanade is a great place to do it. It offers many opportunties but from my experience, you have to be a go-getter, the opportunities won't be handed to you.

Work/Life balance is a challenge. You have to be in full control of your schedule to not let work overwhelm your life. The company is very virtual and you will telecommute a lot. It is good and bad. There's less comaderie among colleagues so it's hard to establish a long relationship with anyone in the company.
