This by far is the longest (waste of time) interview process I was part of - 5 interview sessions plus a homework task.
1st interview is with HR - around 45 min;
2nd interview is with Manager - around 60 min
Then you get a homework task; Easily this task will take a couple of days to complete if you are also somebody working full time.
3rd interview is with Manager and a Technical person - around 90 minutes;
4th interview is with the Team that you would be working with - around 45 min.
5th interview is with the CEO - around 30 min.
So in summary I've spent about 4-5 hours JUST in interview calls... add also about 5 hours for the technical task. Keep in mind I also lost time in rescheduling interview meetings, because they kept postponing and changing dates and times, which made the interview process annoying as hell. To top it all off at the end I didn't get an offer.
Throughout the whole process they kept suggesting that they are impressed by my technical skills and by the time I got to the final stage I thought that the meeting with the CEO is just formality and that I got this in the bag.
To be honest there were a couple of red flags I noticed that I want to share :
- During one of the calls somebody slipped once or twice suggesting that working in this company is super chaotic and can be tedious.
- The manager basically said there is no such thing as onboarding as this is a startup and they haven't figured any processes yet. So I guess that means you are expected to start working on real tasks on your own from day 1.
- I think that what they do is that they filter the good technical candidates at the technical task presentation. Everyone that does remotely good goes to meet the team, Which is formality because there aren't any deep technical evaluation and then they get to meet the CEO who has the final call on who's in and who's out. But by that time you've invested weeks in the interview process and it's just annoying. And at the end they don't provide any useful feedback to explain why you were not selected, it's just the old "we've decided to not continue with your application, we've found a better candidate."
Honestly I just can't recommend applying in Code Intelligence to anyone.

Questions for DevSecOps are mainly regarding Kubernetes; if you know what fuzzing is; if you have experience with tools like Snyk or Sonarqube etc.
