Two stage interview. First stage non technical. Second stage technical with pair programming and technical diagram. Interviewed with expectation of an offer afterwards. However despite answering their questions satisfactorily they apparently expected far more. If you don't ask you don't get I'm afraid.

It was a chat with the new CTO about my previous experience (which is wide and long). Two days after the chat I have received this feedback from the CTO (which was to me via my employment agent): “Good conversation but right now not the best fit, but happy to stay in contact when the team is built out further and more solid.” I think this should be enough for most who read it to draw their own conclusions. My perspective is that I was too experienced for the team, which is quite upsetting because experienced people usually can understand ongoing problems better and help the team more without necessarily pushing them to apply some practices and standards they may be still not ready for.
