Pluspunten

At Philips, I have complete freedom to make important business decisions. This great amount of responsibility makes me feel as though I own my own business. It is a very flat organization, so I have a lot of interaction with top level management.

Minpunten

Not everyone at Philips shares my sense of urgency, and it can be frustrating to try to get things done in the Philips environment. We are very under-resourced, and I have to work far too many hours in order to keep my business going. Philips is a European company, and as a result, it is difficult to convince upper management to devote a reasonable amount of the global resource pool to projects for the US market. European-focused projects clearly take precedence.

Pluspunten

Philips still has good people, meaningful healthcare technology, and a strong brand name. Many employees care deeply about the customers, the products, and doing quality work.

Minpunten

The company culture has gone downhill. Management has become increasingly reliant on spreadsheet-driven decision making that often has little connection to real field conditions, employee workload, or customer impact. Priorities and goals change constantly, creating a desperate, reactive environment where employees are not given enough time to adjust before leadership shifts direction again. Morale suffers because teams are expected to execute against moving targets while leadership treats unrealistic planning as an execution problem.
