"Opportunities, mentorship, and ambitions paved the way for my journey from India to the United States. I moved with the intention of getting a Ph.D. in Computer Science but instead joined Uber after my Masters and have never looked back! Today, quite a few of my projects are innovative, big bold bets—something that has never been tried in the industry," shares Anwaya Aras, Engineering Manager, who reflects on her 5 years at Uber and what she's solving today in our latest careers blog →
At Uber, Product Marketers bridge the gap between product managers and corporate marketing to help bring what’s new to life for users worldwide. They have a seat at the table to influence strategy and decisions that make our products inclusive, impactful, and disruptive. No one knows this better than Lindsey Wilder, a 4-year Uber veteran who leads our New Verticals Product Marketing team, helping people get anything you might find in an aisle at your local grocery, pharmacy, liquor store and more delivered directly to their doorsteps.

At Uber we’re reimagining the way the world moves for the better. We are helping people go anywhere and get anything. And we do it on a global scale, at the speed of now. As our mission became more clear over the last few years, so did our understanding of what it takes for us to be successful. Because of this we refreshed our cultural values to better reflect what it's like to work at Uber today and the mindsets we all need to deliver on our ambitious mission. If these values resonate with you, come join us and let’s build for something bigger.
“Millions of people miss doctor’s appointments every year because they don’t have a ride. And the people who really need these rides...can’t always use the Uber app. Uber Health doesn’t require riders to have smartphones or credit cards. [They] can get text messages or even landline calls about the trip. We’re building off of technology that this company built and it’s really helping people.” Learn more about Leor Shtull-Leber's 7 year Uber journey and why Uber Health is one of the most exciting places to be.
Jacob Adicoff is a Frontend Engineer on the Uber for Business team and a Paralympic silver medalist in cross-country skiing. Jacob is also legally blind; his mother contracted chicken pox during pregnancy, which affected his visual development. He has no vision in his right eye and very limited vision in his left. When Jacob was in second grade, his parents introduced him to skiing through the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation’s Junior Nordic Development team in his hometown of Sun Valley, Idaho, and he was hooked. “I just really took to it,” explains Jacob. “It’s cross country skiing, so it isn’t as fast as downhill skiing. You’re going up and down hills — it’s a total endurance sport.” Throughout his junior skiing career, he raced against an almost entirely sighted competition. His first Paralympics experience was in Sochi, Russia, at the age of 18, and although he didn’t win any medals, he describes it as a great and formative experience.
Alexandra (Ali) Faivus has been in sales for her entire career, which has spanned everything from publishing and ad tech to enterprise sales and management. She joined Uber five years ago, right as Uber for Business was taking shape. Ali is now the Head of Mid-Market Sales for North America, and she’s just as excited about what lies ahead as she was when she first started. “I’m still in awe of the products we’re able to create, the problems we’re able to solve, and the people I get to work with,” she says. “I’ve had a lot of different roles here at Uber, but to see how we’ve grown as an organization and how we’ve developed globally is really exciting.”
Today we are sharing our 5th update on diversity, equity and inclusion at Uber. Since our last update we made meaningful progress in increasing the diversity of our team.
