Pluspunten

In the UK as a WL1 or 2 there is a good work-life balance, particualry when compared to industries like banking, consulting etc. The culture is also very supportive and friendly, there is a 'nice' culture. The variety of brands and countries that Unilever covers also provides great experience and is one of the biggest players in FMCG.

Minpunten

Career progression in the UK is somewhat limited. You can get promoted if you are prepared to wait a long time. The other downside is the pay in that it is not that great (at the time of writing) and imporvments are infrequent. Bonuses do vary in line with business performance. This is in the context of what salaries are like in competitors - if you want a better salary you can often get one quite easily through leaving the business.

Working with brands you grew up with is really exciting! The people I have met have all been amazing as well!

Everyone I have talked to are overworked and feel underpaid and despite the amount of work they do, there is no recognition or appreciation. Upper management is a mess and UL is constantly restructuring, often going from new BACK to the old structure while simultaneously letting people go leaving more people overworked. While most people are amazing, there are a few micromanagers where expectations are unknown. In addition, the lack of communication is awful. Often, I hear about certain cuts through the vine rather than directly from the people involved
