Pluspunten
DAZN is a good brand and has the potential to really disrupte an entire industry and provide better access and experience for sports fans across the globe. Genuinely good people there, a place where you can make friends.
Minpunten
Company stability The company has gone through 4-5 major re-orgs and executive changes in less than 2 years, lots of strategic changes and shifts, very little consistency and stability. At its root, investors are becoming more and more impatient towards the company's performance and timeline of reaching profitability. DAZN has been pulled back from the dream of 'becoming the Netflix of sports' to 'stop bleeding cash and break even, which makes good sense to shareholders, but if you are looking for your next 'big thing' and wanting to do something rather exciting and meaningful, DAZN is not your desitination. Product Culture DAZN used to have a brilliant product leadership from Amazon and BBC. Empowered product team who really care about and defend customer experience, use data and run experiements as a daily habit. Sadly, that had gone, virutually all of it. The 'Test & Learn' product culture has been erased completely, even the budget for Experimentation Tooling & Platform was on the edge of getting cut off, all the product managers had to join together to help build a case to defend that budget. You can get a sense of how bad that is for a product professional. Product org took a 180 degree turn to a textbook waterfall working culture, product managers become delivery mechines and have no mandate to advocate for customer expeirence and data. In contrast, many shortsighted decisions were made and forced upon product teams where customer experience is not anywhere near the center of decision-making, everything is about short-term business returns, what is more astonishing is that executives are not even open to test & measure whethere those short-term business returns are realised. Almost the entire product leadership resigned and many good product managers left the business. In Amsterdam alone, DAZN lost its 3/4 product team in 6 months. This is not a place for someone who wants to build up and develop a career in product management.
