True change in gender equity at work, requires both women and men to step up! 💪 Lioness, the employee network for gender diversity, invited Nancy Poleon (founder BrandedU), Folkert van der Ploeg, Laurens de Vos, Marnix van Stiphout and Sheila Gemin to the stage.🎤 Their focus? Male allyship 🤝 and how men can support others to progress their careers and development. How?💡By giving the stage to the colleagues that did the work, giving credit to women for their contributions and making valuable introductions. The audience shared examples of the behaviour that these leaders have shown in the past that made them feel included, promoted and amplified. It might not be a topic that men discuss on a daily basis, and could therefore feel uneasy, but we want to thank everyone for their vulnerability and taking the next step in being an advocate for a diverse and inclusive workplace! 🚀
🌟 ING’s 4th Annual Reliability Event: 26 excellent talks 🌟 Last week ING hosted its fourth yearly Reliability Event at our Head Office in Amsterdam, an event organized by our engineers for our engineers. Over 700 colleagues from 20 countries joined us, both in person and virtually. The event featured 26 excellent talks from our very own engineers on improving reliability through changes in processes, testing, observability, and tooling. We were thrilled to have Charity Majors (CTO/co-founder Honeycomb) as our opening keynote. Her keynote was titled “Observability is due for a version change, are you ready for it?”. She shared her perspective on observability in the future, enabling ING to go beyond the current market with confidence. Manasa K. from Google gave the closing keynote, sharing insights on observability and resilient system design. Her talk showed the benefits of translating resilience architectures to service level targets, and integrating these into code for easy deployment. Another highlight was the 'ask me anything' panel with Danny Wijnand, Gijs Meijer and our new CTO Daniele Tonella, answering questions from the audience on reliability. The day ended on a high note with a performance by the band Seytan, featuring our own Umut Inal and meet & greet and drinks & bites. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success! 🙌 Want to be part of our engineering culture? Check out our tech vacancies 👇 https://lnkd.in/exkuqpqY hashtag#Tech hashta
“It’s ING’s ambition to help accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy. In our Climate Progress Update 2024 we’ve announced new steps to reduce oil & gas financing while stepping up our client engagement. 🤝 As a bank, we can make the biggest impact by helping clients and customers transition their businesses and homes; and by financing the technology and solutions needed for a sustainable future. This latest update marks another step forward. ☝ In 2023, we assessed the publicly available climate disclosures of around 2,000 of our Wholesale Banking clients to understand more about where they are in their transition. Today, in the update, we share what we’ve been learning – and it’s given us a valuable foundation for proactively engaging with clients. ⚡Climate change is a dynamic, fast-moving challenge, which is why we’re continually reassessing what further actions we can take. So it’s exciting [encouraging/important] to be talking about our new announcements. 👍 But this is collective endeavour. Progress will come from concerted collaboration. So this also gives us fresh impetus to engage with the many others who, like us, are looking to find systemwide solutions." 👉 Learn more about how we’re progressing in our latest Climate Progress Update: https://lnkd.in/dVgVsKzQ Society is transitioning to a low-carbon economy - so are our clients and so is ING. While we finance a lot of sustainable activities, we still finance more that aren’t.
